The local government unit (LGU) of Pasig City has readied rescue vehicles that will serve commuters affected by the nationwide transportation strike or tigil pasada on Monday, Oct. 16.
In an advisory posted on Sunday, Oct. 15, the Pasig City Public Information Office (PIO) stated that the Pasig LGU had deployed monitoring teams from the Traffic and Parking Management Office to determine the areas in need of rescue vehicles.
“Sa kasalukuyan, isang ruta lamang ang tinatayang maapektuhan ng transport stike sa ating lungsod at may mga UV Express at Modernized Jeepneys pa rin na babyahe sa rutang ito,” it said.

Meanwhile, in a separate post, Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto said the only route affected is the Pasig-Quiapo.
However, he said no classes would be suspended because the house-to-school routes were not “heavily affected” as per the assessment.
“FYI [For your information] "DepEd NCR advises granular approach to the suspension of in-person classes and shift to distance learning." Tandaan pag suspend ng suspend, kawawa rin ang mga bata,” Sotto added.
The Pasig City Mayor noted that private and public schools can declare class suspension if they think that students are highly affected by the strike.
In a report by RH Edniel Parrosa, some UV Express and modern jeepneys in the Pasig-Quiapo route still proceeded with their trips amid the transport strike.
