The Pasig City Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 167 issued arrest warrants against Alice Guo a.k.a ‘Guo Hua Ping’ and several others, over qualified trafficking charges.
On Thursday, September 19, the Court issued an order by Judge Annielyn Medes-Cabelis for the accused persons' arrests after examining all the documents presented in the Preliminary Investigation.
“After examining five (5) Informations, the Resolution, and all the documents presented during the Preliminary Investigation, the Court finds probable cause to hold accused…for trial for the crime/s charged against them as stated in the caption of this Order,” The Court’s order indicated.
Guo and her co-accused
Among Guo’s co-accused are Huang Zhiyang, the ‘boss of all bosses’ of the illegal POGOs; and Zhang Ruijin and Baoying Lin who were previously linked to the biggest money-laundering case in Singapore.
Additionally, Dennis Cunanan was also included in the list provided by the Court for his POGO transactions in 2020.
The Court ordered the issuance of an arrest warrant against the 14 mentioned individuals in the four-page document, as they are currently at large.
Charges on POGO Illegal Activities
Instead of remaining under the custody of the Philippine National Police (PNP) in their Custodial Facility in Camp Crame, Quezon City, the Court directed Guo’s transfer to the Pasig City Jail Female Dormitory, Bureau of Jail and Management Penology (BJMP) in Pasig City.
Additionally, the Pasig City Court said that Walter Wong Long is currently detained at the Tarlac Provincial Jail in Dolores, Tarlac City. However, he is directed to be transferred under the custody of the Pasig City Jail Male Dormitory, BJMP in Pasig City.
“Let the corresponding commitment orders be issued against accused Alice Leal Guo a.k.a “Guo Hua Ping” and Walter Wong Long. All the accused in these cases are NOT ENTITLED to post bail as the charges against them are all non-bailable,” the Court’s order read.
The arraignment and pre-trial conference for Guo and Long will be held on September 27.
