The Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC) plans to excavate the Philippine Offshore Gaming Operator (POGO) hub in Porac, Pampanga, to investigate reports of buried bodies in the area.
Authorities will search for a possible mass grave where foreign workers from the POGO operations who were killed may have been buried.
According to Usec. Gilbert Cruz, Executive Director of the PAOCC, they were approached by individuals who claimed that murders occurred at the Porac POGO hub.
"May lumapit kasi sa aming mga witnesses tapos may sinabi silang may mga binaon daw na mga foreign nationals na pinatay doon sa Porac POGO hub," Cruz said.
They reportedly do not know each other, but they are pointing to the same location as a possible burial site.
"Dalawa ‘yon so hindi sila magkakilala ang nagtaka lang ako bakit ‘yung dalawa they are pointing doon sa parehas na mga sites," said Cruz.
"Ang iniisip namin, baka totoo nga ‘yung sinasabi nila," he added.
Cruz stated that they will apply for a court order to permit the excavation of any victims' remains, if present, as well as the two previously mentioned bodies, if they are indeed buried there.
Furthermore, they have also coordinated with the Chinese embassy to obtain a list of missing persons who worked for the POGOs, which they will compare with the names found at the POGO hub in Porac.
