BI officer-in-charge Commissioner Joel Anthony Viado stated that if found guilty, Yang will face deportation and blacklisting. However, deportation will only proceed after all his pending cases in the Philippines are resolved.
Yang, who owns Philippine Sanjia Steel Corp., is accused of falsifying documents and failing to remit employee benefits.
During a House inquiry, Laguna Rep. Dan Fernandez revealed that Yang, a Chinese national posing as a Filipino, is linked to POGO operations and alleged drug smuggling.
Michael Yang has also been implicated in illegal POGO activities.
