As the new year approaches, Pantone announced that Peach Fuzz is the Color of the Year 2024!
“Introducing Pantone Color of the Year 2024: PANTONE 13-1023 Peach Fuzz. A velvety gentle peach whose all-embracing spirit enriches mind, body, and heart,” it announced in a Facebook post.
The New Jersey-based company said Peach Fuzz’s “warm and cozy shade” highlights the bond with other people and the feelings this creates.
“Peach Fuzz presents a fresh approach to a new softness. Subtly sensual, PANTONE 13-1023 Peach Fuzz is a heartfelt peach hue bringing a feeling of tenderness and communicating a message of caring and sharing, community and collaboration,” it said.
According to Pantone, Peach Fuzz forms a “symbiotic relationship between our sense of taste, sight, touch, and scent”, hence it is regarded as a “gift to the senses”.
In 2022, the New Jersey-based company set Viva Magenta, or PANTONE 18-750 as the Color of the Year.
Other past Color of The Year were Ultimate Gray in 2021, Classic Blue in 2020, Living Coral in 2019, and Ultra Violet in 2018.
According to Pantone, global color experts select the Color of the Year through “thoughtful consideration and trend analysis.”
“It is a culmination of the macro-level color trend forecasting and research that the global team involved with the Pantone Color Institute conducts year-round that informs this selection, as well as the colors that get included into our color trend forecasting products,” it said.
