The festival of all festivals in Negros Occidental - the Panaad sa Negros - will return on April 17 to 23 after its three-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
On Tuesday, Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz II said that the provincial government would launch the festival on February 13 at the Capitol Lagoon and Park, emphasizing that the province had set aside the amount of P25 million being allocated to major expenditures.
Also, the provincial government will provide financial assistance to the local government units (LGU) which comes from a separate account under the Governor's Office.
Moreover, this year's festival will introduce an event called "Best of Negros Products," apart from its typical and traditional festival dance competitions and Lin-ay Sang Negros beauty pageant.
Meanwhile, the 27th Panaad sa Negros Festival which was supposed to hail on April 20 to 26 last 2020 was canceled due to the COVID-19 threat.
