In response to the persistent rainfall intensified by the Southwest Monsoon and Typhoon Carina, the Malacañan palace has issued a directive to suspend work and classes across government offices and educational institutions in Regions III (Central Luzon), IV-A (CALABARZON), and the National Capital Region (NCR) on Thursday July 25, 2024.

This decision aims to support ongoing efforts in rescue, recovery, relief, and rehabilitation led by both government agencies and private sectors. However, agencies responsible for delivering essential services such as health care, disaster response, and vital public services will remain operational to ensure continuous support to the affected communities.

"The suspension of work for private companies and offices is left to the discretion of their respective heads," the advisory read.

As of this writing, typhoon Carina is crossing Taiwan and approaching the northern boundary of the Philippine Area of Responsibility.
