President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has extended the tenure of Medardo de Lemos, Director of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), who turned 65 on June 8.
De Lemos will remain in his position until his appointment expires, which coincides with the conclusion of the president's tenure.
He is an accomplished lawyer and public servant and took over as NBI director in August of last year.
De Lemos is also a regular lecturer at the Philippine Judicial Academy, where he teaches judges about the use of lethal force in security training.

He was appointed officer-in-charge of the NBI in 2013 by then-Justice Secretary and currently imprisoned former Senator Leila de Lima.
