Malacañang Palace on Friday declared June 24 as a regular special non-working day in country's capital Manila in celebration of its 452nd Founding Anniversary.
"It is but fitting and proper that the people of the City of Manila be given full opportunity in the occasion and enjoy the celebration," Proclamation No. 261, dated June 15 and released on Friday, reads.
The proclamation, ordered by President Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos Jr., was signed by Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin.
On June 24, 1571, the country's first governor-general Spanish conquistador Miguel Lopez de Legazpi founded Ciudad de Manila or Lungsod ng Maynila.
The local government of Manila is presently preparing various activities for the upcoming founding anniversary.
Among the activities under works is the Rampa Manila, an event that aims to bring together an extraordinary ensemble of models and performers.
