President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has declared Tuesday, April 1, as a regular holiday throughout the country in observance of Eid'l Fitr, the feast of Ramadan.
Proclamation No. 839, signed by Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin, states that the declaration was made "in order to bring the religious and cultural significance of Eid'l Fitr to the fore of the national consciousness, and to allow the entire Filipino nation to join their Muslim brothers and sisters in peace and harmony in the observance and celebration of Eid'l Fitr."
Marcos' proclamation was based on the recommendation of the National Commission on Muslim Filipinos to declare either March 31, 2025, or April 1, 2025, as a national holiday.
