The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) reported that tropical depression Kabayan has further downgraded into a low-pressure area (LPA) on Monday afternoon.
According to the latest update, Kabayan was last spotted in the vicinity of Cabanglasan, Bukidnon, at around 3:00 p.m. moving northwestward at 25 kilometers per hour.
PAGASA said Kabayan had weakened into an LPA at around 2:30 p.m., adding that it will continue to cross the rugged terrain of Mindanao and will emerge over the Sulu Sea between the afternoon and the evening.
The weather bureau also noted that a slight improvement may allow disturbances in the environmental conditions that may reorganize and re-develop into a tropical depression.
