The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) on Thursday announced that the other low-pressure area (LPA) it has been monitoring outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) has developed into a Tropical Depression (TD).
This development comes after the exit of Typhoon Egay from PAR at 8AM on Thursday.
In its 10AM advisory, the state weather bureau said the LPA was last spotted 1,585 kilometers East of Eastern Visayas, packing maximum sustained winds of 55 kilometers per hour (kph) and gustiness of up to 70 kph.
PAGASA said the TD is moving north northwest at 20 kph.
According to the state weather bureau's forecast, the TD may enter the PAR by Saturday evening or Sunday morning.
Once it enters the country's premises, it will be called Falcon.
But PAGASA noted that Falcon might not directly affect any parts of the country but it may enhance the Southwest Monsoon or Habagat.
Falcon is forecasted to leave PAR by Tuesday next week, August 1.
