The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said on Thursday that three to four tropical cyclones may enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) in July, affecting some areas in Luzon and Visayas.
According to weather specialist Benison Estareja, these storms are possible to make landfall over mainland Luzon and eastern Visayas or enhance the southwest monsoon, or Habagat.
Meanwhile, the state weather bureau said it has not monitored any weather disturbances, at least not until the weekend.
"What we have at present is the southwest monsoon which is particularly affecting Central and Southern Luzon and Visayas," Estareja noted.
Due to the southwest monsoon or localized thunderstorms, the rest of the country will have isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over Metro Manila, Central Luzon, Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, and Quezon), Mimaropa (Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon and Palawan) and Pangasinan.
Approximately 20 tropical cyclones enter the country's PAR yearly.
