More rains expected in Mindanao due to shear line – PAGASA
by Ada Pelonia17 January 2024

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) on Wednesday, January 17, said more rains are expected in Mindanao because of the shear line, the meeting point of warm and cold air.

A total of 6,000 families have been affected by heavy rains and flooding in the Davao region due to the shear line. OCD Region XI Director Ednar Dayanghirang said 3,000 individuals are currently taking shelter in evacuation centers.

Dominguez urged the public to expect the shear line to abate, looking forward to an improving weather.
