The reported number of individuals who perished during the onslaught of a Severe Tropical Storm has climbed to 122, according to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) on Wednesday night.
Of the said number, 92 were confirmed and 29 were subject to validation.
The Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) accounted for most of the fatalities with 61 deaths followed by Western Visayas with 28, and three from SOCCSKSAGEN.
The NDRRMC also reported that 36 people still remain missing while those who got injured due to the storm's onslaught rose to 103.
Paeng affected 927,822 families or 3.18 million people. Of these, 176,337 people remained inside evacuation centers, while 692,941 individuals were staying with relatives or friends.
Over 7,658 barangays have been impacted by the storm, which triggered flash floods and landslides in several parts of the country.
A total of 10,345 houses across 15 regions were also destroyed, with the highest number recorded in Western Visayas at 5,227.
Damage to infrastructure has reached PHP 1.03 billion while the local agriculture sector suffered PHP 1.62 billion of destroyed crops.
Paeng exited the Philippine Area of Responsibility on Monday.
