Senator Robinhood Padilla on Wednesday tested negative for drug usage after he voluntarily submit himself to a drug test at the PDEA headquarters in Quezon City.

This comes following the proposal of Surigao del Norte Rep. Robert Ace Barbers to let celebrities undergo a mandatory drug test after actor Dominic Roco, son of Bembol Roco, was arrested with four others in a drug buy-bust operation in Quezon City last Saturday, Oct. 1.

Padilla, who is also a former actor, initially opposed the suggestion.

"Inumpisahan ko na po. Taposin niyo na. Let’s get it on," he said in a Facebook post.

The neophyte senator likewise challenged ordinary citizens, actors and politicians to submit themselves to voluntary drug testing to assure authorities of their compliance.

"Pwede din naman voluntary, pati government officials. Parang wala nang haka-haka, tanggalin na natin ang haka-haka at wag nang dagdagan ang trabaho ng pulis at PDEA para mahabol nila yung talagang mga drug pushers," he said.
