Senator Robin Padilla on Tuesday requested the Senate to call him "Robinhood Padilla" from now on.
The neophyte senator conveyed his preference in a letter addressed to Senate Secretary Myra Villarica.
“This is to respectfully inform your good office of this Representative’s preference to be addressed as Robinhood C. Padilla for all Senate communications and correspondences,” he said in his letter dated July 6.
Robinhood Padilla is the senator’s real name.
He, however, clarified that his request for a given name is for Senate records only, adding media can still call him "Robin".
"Mainam po kasi na tunay na pangalan ko po ang gamitin sa records ng Senado... sa mga opisyal na records lang po ng Senado bilang paggalang po sa institusyon," Padilla said in a message to reporters.
Padilla, among the newbie senators, topped the 2022 senatorial race with more than 26.6 million votes.
