Senator Robinhood 'Robin' Padilla on Tuesday announced his resignation as the executive vice president of the political party Partido Demokratiko Pilipino-Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban) to concentrate on his duties as a lawmaker.
In a statement, Padilla said he submitted his "irrevocable resignation" letter as PDP-Laban vice president on Monday, May 29.
But the Senator noted that he will remain a member of PDP-Laban, the ruling party under the administration of former president Rodrigo Roa Duterte.
In September last year, Padilla was elected as the political party's Executive Vice President while Palawan 2nd District Rep. Jose Alvarez was named as the president.
