A Singaporean national was arrested after P76 million worth of cocaine was confiscated at Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3 on Thursday.
Based on the NAIA Inter-Agency Drug Interdiction Task Force Group (IADTG) report, the two are from Doha, Qatar, which is considered one of the “red flag” countries by the authorities.
In a report by RH 27 Noche Cacas, it was seen in the x-ray examination that there was a suspicious image in the handbags and check-in baggage of foreigners.
The 14 kilograms of confiscated cocaine were found inside the can of imported cookies and chips, and the suspects defended that they had no idea that there were illegal drugs packed in their suitcases.
Moreover, it was also known that they came from Dubai first, then flew to Doha and went to the Philippines.
The drug suspects will be faced with a complaint of a violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act.
