The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) announced on Wednesday that it has approved a minimum salary hike of P30 in three regions.
Daily pay raises will start on December 5 in the Cordillera, Bicol, and Eastern Visayas regions, as approved by the DOLE’s National Wages and Productivity Commission (NWPC) after the wage orders have been submitted.
According to the DOLE, the wage hike is expected to benefit a total of 150,484 minimum wage earners, and the new minimum wage rate in Bicol will be changed to P395 from its previous P365.
Moreover, domestic workers will expect a P1,000 increase from the P5,000 minimum monthly pay rate.
Also, the new minimum wage for non-agricultural businesses and retail or service companies in Eastern Visayas will be P 405 minimum salary.
While in the Cordillera region with a P400 minimum wage, the new rate will be P430, and there will also be a P400 increase for the domestic workers.
The DOLE stated that the latest wage orders will be published on November 19 and will take effect after 15 days.
