Zambales 1st District Representative Jefferson “Jay” Khonghun ordered an investigation into the P3.8 billion worth of seized shabu at the Subic Bay Freeport before the authorities caught it in Mexico, Pampanga.

In an interview with DZRH’s Damdaming Bayan, Khonghun said that he wants the House Committee on Dangerous Drugs to lead the investigation into the shabu bust, which is considered a huge success under the administration of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.

Kasi tayo, we just want the truth,” he said.

According to the lawmaker, a thorough investigation is necessary to find out the truth and not taint the good image of the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA).

As recently stated by the personnel of the Bureau of Customs (BOC), National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), a total of 560 kg of shabu, which is worth P3.8 billion, was discovered in a warehouse located in Mexico City, Pampanga.
