Authorities from the Bataan Police Provincial Office (PPO) and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) confiscated approximately ₱1.7 million worth of suspected shabu during an intensified anti-drug operation in Barangay Bagong Silang, Balanga City on April 27, 2025, Sunday night.

According to the PNP, a 28-year-old student was arrested in a buy-bust operation after being identified as a high-value individual (HVI) involved in the illegal drug trade.

During the operation, police recovered around 250 grams of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride, commonly known as shabu, along with marked money used in the transaction.

In initial police reports, the suspect sourced the illegal drugs from Manila, making weekly trips to transport and distribute them within Bataan, according to Officer-in-Charge of the Bataan PPO, Police Col. Marites A. Salvadora.
