Six overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) from Lebanon safely arrived in the country on Friday morning, Nov. 3.
The six repatriates were welcomed by officials of the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) and its attached agency, the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration, at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal.

Interviewed during DZRH Damdaming Bayan, OWWA Administrator Arnel Ignacio said the OFws would receive financial assistance packages worth P120,000.
“Mukhang isasama namin sila sa order [at] baka madagdagan pa namin [ang financial assistance packages],” he said.
“Magka-qualify sila sa ibang programa ng OWWA. Mga active member kasi sila, buti naman at mini-maintain nila ang kanilang status sa OWWA. Marami silang makukuhang benepisyo from the program,” Ignacio added.

The OWWA Administrator said six Filipino repatriates were employed as household service workers in Lebanon.
“Maayos naman sila [...] Kwento nila, sanay na sanay na raw sila sa ganoong mga tunog ng barilan. Nagugulat din kami, pero ang importante sila ay nandito,” he said.
Igancio assured that OWWA has the capabilities to assist those OFWs in Lebanon who wish to return to the country.
In October, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) raised Alert Level 3 in Lebanon following the fire exchange between Israel forces and Hezbollah militants.
The DFA earlier advised OFWs in Lebanon to seek the voluntary repatriation program before a war broke out.
