The satellite offices of the Office of the Vice President (OVP) have begun offering social services programs such as medical and burial assistance to those in need.

In a statement, Vice President Sara Duterte's spokesman lawyer Reynold Munsayac said the satellite offices aim to provide people outside of Metro Manila access to social services.

"These established satellite offices across the country will widen the program’s reach and will guarantee a better provision of assistance," Munsayac said.

Duterte launched OVP satellite offices in different parts of the country on her first day in the office last July 1.

The satellite offices are located in Dagupan (Region 1), Cebu (Region VII), Tacloban (Region VIII), Zamboanga (Region IX), Davao (Region XI), and Tandag sa Surigao del Sur (Region XIII).

Applicants must complete the following requirements in order to avail the services:

1. Filled out application form.

2. Submit the complete requirements and form via walk-in to the satellite office processor/staff.

3. Wait for the processing of the application.

4. The processor/staff will inform the applicant of the date of issuance of assistance that will be provided personally or via email.

According to Munsayac, the Vice President is eyeing "to open more in hopes to reach more Filipinos throughout the country."
The OVP said the annual General Appropriations Act funded the medical and burial assistance programs as subsidies.
