The Office of the Vice President (OVP) expressed its gratitude to individuals who extended help, support, solidarity, and compassion to the office during the recent "crisis" and "adversity" it faced.
Among those who were acknowledged were the doctors and lawyers who provided invaluable support and assistance to the staff of the OVP during their time of need.
The agency also expressed its gratitude to Senators Ronald "Bato" Dela Rosa and Bong Go for accompanying OVP Usec. Atty. Zuleika Lopez while she was at the Veterans Memorial Medical Center (VMMC).
In addition, the OVP also expressed its gratitude to Senator Imee Marcos for ensuring that there was a DILG order allowing Vice President Sara Duterte and Senator Dela Rosa to accompany the patient at the hospital.
The OVP also showed appreciation to the media for their unrelenting efforts in informing the public about the country’s situation.
OVP Usec. Lopez was rushed to the hospital on November 23 after reportedly falling ill, following the House of Representatives directive for her transfer to the Women’s Correctional Facility in Mandaluyong.
Senator Dela Rosa later criticized the directive, calling it unjustified, as the facility designated for Lopez's transfer is intended for individuals with cases and convicted felons serving sentences.
After being detained for 10 days due to a contempt citation, the House Committee on Good Government and Public Accountability directed the release of Lopez.
