Authorities seized 200 grams of purported shabu worth more than P1.3 million during a buy-bust operation in Quezon City on Sunday night.
The subject of the buy-bust operation in Barangay Bahay Toro is suspect Ruben Madarang, 40.
After a cop masquerading as a customer was able to conduct a deal with him, officers from the Quezon City Police District-Drug Enforcement Unit (QCPD-DEU) apprehended him.
QCPD Police Director Brigadier General Nicolas Torre said that the original transaction was for 50 grams of shabu; however, during their subsequent search, they found three more packets containing 50 grams each.
The police also said that the guy reportedly sells drugs to the immediate community as well as others with large transactions, including people he may not directly know.
They added that, compared to others on the street, this is relatively large because one packet contains ten bags.
The defendant has already been arrested twice for drug-related offenses.
He denied selling drugs and said that the cops found no drugs on him.
The suspect will be charged under the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act.
