Over ₱1.54 billion worth of suspected methamphetamine or "shabu" and a high-end luxury car were found in an abandoned house in Barangay Pampang, Angeles City on Monday, May 26, 2025.

The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) identified the residence as a suspected drug storage facility.

According to PDEA Director General Undersecretary Isagani R. Nerez, the operation was launched based on a court-issued search warrant, implemented at around 4:00 PM by joint operatives.

Meanwhile, he confirmed that the subject of the search warrant, a Chinese national, was not found at the location.

Authorities discovered 155 transparent plastic bags containing suspected shabu, weighing approximately one kilogram each.

"This is one of the largest drug seizures in Central Luzon this year," Nerez said in a statement.

The suspect will face charges under Section 11, Article II of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

The operation was a follow-up to a successful buy-bust operation two weeks earlier in Angeles City, where authorities arrested a Chinese national and his Filipina cohort and seized over 35 kilograms of shabu, according to PDEA.

“The two drug operations are linked to each other. What you see is the outcome of persistent tracking of previous operations targeting individuals connected to syndicated drug trafficking, including their sources,” Nerez added.
