

More than 9,000 individuals within six kilometers of the permanent danger zones of Mayon Volcano in Albay have been evacuated as the volcano released a new summit lava dome on Saturday, June 10, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said.
In its 8 AM situational report, NDRRMC said that a total of 2,638 families or 9,314 individuals from the Municipalities of Camalig, Ligao, Daraga, Guinobatan, Malilipot, and Tabaco have been evacuated.
All evacuees are now situated inside 21 evacuation centers (ECs).
Eighteen municipalities in Albay province are under a state of calamity.
Meanwhile, Albay Provincial Information Office (PIO) said two barangays in Guinobatan town were promptly evacuated on Saturday morning.
Residents of Barangays Maninila and Tandarora were temporarily relocated to Mauraro High School and Guinobatan Community College, Brgy, Mauraro, Guinobatan.
"Mayor Paul Chino Garcia also clarified that if Mayon’s alert level is raised to 4, they will automatically evacuate all barangays in Guinobatan," Albay PIO said.
Based on the latest update from the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs), a new summit lava dome emerged in the Mayon Volcano crater at 5:45 AM on Saturday.
One volcanic earthquake and 59 rockfalls were observed in Mayon Volcano in the last 24 hours, bringing a total of 579 since June 1.
