A total of 34,000 personnel from the Philippine National Police (PNP) and Armed Force of the Philippines (AFP) are ready for the possible impact of Super Typhoon Betty.

According to PNP Public Information Office Chief Police Brigadier General Redrico Maranan, almost 22,000 PNP personnel are prepositioned for search and rescue operations (SRO) in areas that may be affected by Super Typhoon Betty.

He said almost 18,000 rescue and retrieval equipments will also be released.

"At sa katunayan po niyan ay handa na rin ang lift capabilities, land, and sea assets na bilang natin na mga 2,200 na mobility na naka-standyby para gamitin sa search and rescue response," Maranan added.

The PNP Chief also said that the PNP National Headquarters is also ready to activate the disaster incident management task group.

Maranan also said that the PNP chief Benjamin Acorda Jr. is strict to his order to the police to carry out their duties properly.

Meanwhile, in a separate statement, the AFP said more than 12,000 personnel is ready to be deployed to help in the possible impact of the super typhoon.
