About 1,491 individuals or 494 families were affected by Typhoon Henry in Ilocos, Central Luzon, and Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR), according to the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) on Monday, Sept. 5.
In its 8 am situational report, 192 individuals or 63 families were pre-emptively evacuated and 153 displaced persons are in evacuation centers.
Over 317 food packs worth Php 244,558 were distributed to the affected barangays among the three regions.
Only one death was recorded in Ilocos Region and no other recorded missing or injured.
At least seven houses were “partially damaged“ by the typhoon.
A total of seven bridges and one road are still not passable.
While six motorbangcas are still stranded in Region 2 - Cagayan Valley as of Monday morning.
There were reported power interruptions in 12 municipalities among the three regions but it was restored eventually.
About 27 cities and municipalities had suspended classes in schools and nine had canceled work.
Typhoon Henry continues to move further away from the country but the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said the Southwest Monsoon will continue to bring scattered rain showers and thunderstorms in Ilocos Region, Batanes, Babuyan Islands, Zambales, and Bataan as well as Metro Manila and the rest of the country.
