At least 300 families were reportedly displaced by the fire that blazed a residential area in Brgy. 310, C.M. Recto, Sta. Cruz, Manila on Wednesday, January 31.
According to RH 29 Boy Gonzales' report during DZRH Dos Por Dos on Thursday, February 1, the affected families are temporarily taking shelter in a covered court.
The Manila local government unit has provided a tent for each family to sleep with.
One Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) personnel and one resident reportedly sustained injuries.
As per Gonzales, BFP's initial investigation showed that the fire originated from a computer shop.
A total of 150 houses were said to be destroyed.
In an interview, a resident told DZRH that all of their belonging were burned, including her passport and documents required for her trip to Qatar where she works as a housemaid.
But fortunately, she said, her children and husband were safe.
"Sana po may magparating na tulong para kahit konti ay makabawi, makapambili ng damit para pampasok," the resident appeal to the publice.

The fire occurred that started past 1:51 PM reached the fifth alarm.
BFP had declared fire out by past 7 PM.
