The Office of the Solicitor General (OSG) filed a petition for the cancellation of the certificate of live birth of the suspended Bamban, Tarlac Mayor Alice Guo, July 5.
The petition for the cancellation of Guo’s birth certificate is based on the grounds of failure to comply with the legal requirements for late registration, Solicitor General Menardo Guevarra said in a statement on Friday.
Guevarra mentioned that this move will pave the way for the filling of the quo warranto case against the suspended mayor.
“This will lay the groundwork for the subsequent filing of a petition for quo warranto,” Soc. Gen. Guevarra said.
A quo warranto proceeding is a legal process that may establish an individual's right to a public office and remove the current holder from the position.
