The Department of Transportation (DOTr) has announced that it has extended the operation hours in Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (MRT-3) Light Rail Transit Line 1 (LRT-1) and Lines 2 (LRT-2) during this Holiday rush, effective Wednesday, Dec. 20.
In a press release posted on its official Facebook page, DOTr said the following schedules would now be implemented:
Extended last trips in MRT-3
- North Avenue Station - 10:30 PM from the original 9:30 PM schedule
- Taft Avenue Station - 11:05 PM from the original 10:09 PM schedule
Extended last trips in LRT-1
- Baclaran Station - 10:45 PM from the original 10:00 PM schedule
- Fernando Poe Jr. Station - 11:00 PM from the original 10:15 PM schedule
Extended last trips in LRT-2
- Antipolo Station - 10:00 PM from the original 9:00 PM schedule
- Recto Station - 10:30 PM from the original 9:30 PM
The new train schedules are effective until Saturday, Dec. 23.
According to the DOTr Secretary Jaime Bautista, extended train schedules would accommodate passengers, who came from Christmas parties, reunions, and other gatherings this Holiday rush.
The approval came after the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority appealed to the managements of LRT-1 and MRT-3 to extend the train operations.
