As the Department of Agriculture (DA) projected, prices of onion in the country have continuously decreased as imports arrived on time.

In their latest price monitoring, the local white onions have now dropped to P170 per kilo while red onions range from P240 to P350 per kilo.

Meanwhile, imported white onions range from P250/kg to P260/kg while imported red onions are set at P200 to P250 per kilo.

They assured to bring back low prices of the agricultural product in the local market.

“Ang pinakamababa po na presyo ay umabot sa mga PHP67 or a little less than PHP70 per kilo. So, ’yun po ang tinitingnan natin ngayon kung paano natin maibabalik ang ganung presyo," DA Assistant Secretary Kristine Evangelista added.
