Donating proceeds from a successful world tour this year, is not such a bad idea right?
Olivia Rodrigo is using her immense reach in the music industry to embrace the spirit of giving this holiday season, as over two million dollars of her net proceeds from the GUTS World Tour will be donated to 10 global women's charities worldwide.
The press release on Tuesday, December 17, announced that the vampire singer donated a hefty chunk of her net proceeds from ticket sales to charities all over the globe, extending her initiative on activism through Fund 4 Good. In support of women and girls in need, the Disney alum decided to disperse the money to 10 organizations aimed at championing girl's education, reproductive rights, and the prevention of gender-based violence.
Donations from the GUTS World Tour will benefit the following across the globe, including one of her last stops, the Philippines:
- Aidha (Singapore)
- Harmony House Limited (Hong Kong)
- Jhpiego (the Philippines)
- Korea Foundation for Women
- National Network of Abortion Funds (United States)
- NPO Women's Saya-Saya (Japan)
- The Pratthanadee Foundation (Thailand)
- West (Australia)
- Women Against Violence Europe
- Women's Shelters Canada
Apart from the electrifying performances, Olivia made time to visit the organizations during the eight-month-long tour. The GUTS World Tour kicked off in February, supporting her sophomore album ‘GUTS.’ One of the tour's final stops in October was in the Philippines.
According to the deja vu singer, the Philippine stop meant a lot for her as a Filipino-American star. The pop star drew the biggest crowd yet at the Philippine Arena back in October. In an Instagram post after her concert, Olivia said that performing for the first time in the country was her most special show and most meaningful trip.
“I'm so grateful that everyone came. It was so much fun. I just feel like the luckiest girl that ever lived,” Olivia said in a heartfelt concert recap she shared online.
