Both daughters of former Parañaque City Mayor Pablo Olivarez Sr. will face off against each other for the chairman position in San Dionisio Village in Parañaque in the upcoming Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE).
At the last minute, Shannin Mae Olivarez filed her certificate of candidacy (COC) to challenge her half-sister, Eva Olivarez.
Looking back, Olivarez Sr. stepped down from his position as the barangay chairman of San Dionisio and endorsed Shannin to serve as the village head, which the latter accepted and took her oath on August 18.
She was also personally endorsed by Parañaque City Mayor Eric Olivarez’s wife, Aileen Olivarez.
On the other hand, Eva’s candidacy was endorsed by her brothers, Parañaque City 1st District Rep. Edwin Olivarez and Mayor Olivarez.
The filing of COC will run until September 4, while the election proper is scheduled for October 30.
