A well-known commercial establishment in Barangay San Dionisio, Paranaque, Olivarez Plaza, was engulfed in flames past 8:00 AM on Friday morning, reaching the third alarm.
The fire was declared under control by 10:00 AM.
According to the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), the fire originated in the pharmacy section of Mercury Drugstore.
The BFP is currently conducting an ongoing investigation to determine the cause of the fire, and there is no information yet regarding the extent of the damage.
Fortunately, no casualties or injuries have been reported.
Immediately responding to the scene were Paranaque Mayor Eric Olivarez and Paranaque Congressman Edwin Olivarez.
According to Mayor Eric, based on the initial investigation, it is possible that the fire started from a generator set, which may have overheated due to the lack of electricity last night.
Meanwhile, heavy traffic congestion occurred on a portion of Ninoy Aquino Avenue after the northbound lanes were closed to provide space for the responding firefighters.
