

OCTA Research reported that the nationwide COVID-19 positivity rate had increased to 19.3% last Saturday, continuously having more cases in the National Capital Region (NCR).
According to OCTA fellow Dr. Guido David yesterday, the cases might peak in "middle to late May," with a record of 1,878 new cases as reported by the Department of Health (DOH).
In a Twitter post, David mentioned that the DOH reported 1,878 new cases, nine deaths with none from the NCR, 833 recoveries, and 10,195 active cases.
A total of 807 cases were reported in the NCR, while 149 cases were from Cavite and 142 from Rizal.
For other provinces and regions, Laguna had the highest record of new cases with 90; next is Bulacan with 70; Camarines Sur, 46; Davao del Sur, 42; Iloilo, 35; Albay, 34; Batangas, 33; Quezon, 33; and Negros Occidental, 30.
Meanwhile, OCTA recorded 1,400 to 1,600 new cases on Sunday, while on Friday, it said that the COVID-19 positivity rate in the NCR is expected to reach 25%.
