The majority of Filipinos are in favor of strengthening of the Philippines' military tie with the United States in resolving the issues in the West Philippine Sea, according to the survey by OCTA Research.
The survey was conducted from July 22 to July 26 with 1,200 men and women Filipino respondents aged 18 years old and above.
The agency gathered 54 percent of adult Filipinos who claimed they are in favor of strengthening and expanding military ties between the Philippines and the United States, while 11 percent said they are not favorable, and 32 percent labeled themselves as undecided.
Those unfavorable, based on the data, showed 56 percent from Luzon, 59 percent from Mindanao, and 46 percent in the National Capital Region and Visayas.
Meanwhile, the agency also gathered unfavorable results from the survey, such as 14 percent in Visayas, 11 percent in Luzon, 8 percent in Metro Manila, and 11 percent in Mindanao.
