The Office of the Civil Defense (OCD) is already monitoring Typhoon Jenny as the National Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council (NDRRMC) activated emergency preparedness and response protocols to speed up the response to the storm.

OCD Administrator Undersecretary Ariel Nepomuceno said that the pre-disaster risk assessment meeting of the NDRRMC has convinced him to communicate with different government agencies.

Nepomuceno assured that the regional officers of the OCD are prepared and that there is no “major need” for the national agency until present.

Before Typhoon Jenny entered, Defense Secretary Gilberto Teodoro met the NDRRMC to point out the improvement of evacuation protocols, specifically the design of evacuation centers in accordance with the order of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.

In addition to areas with an elevated tropical cyclone warning signal, typhoon Jenny, which was last spotted in the east of Aparri, Cagayan, will move south and is expected to drop rain in other parts of the country for the next three days.
