A 39-year-old nurse was killed in Barangay 173 of Caloocan after being shot at multiple times by a motorcycle rider he had attempted to help.

The victim died of bullet wounds in the head and arms.

He was identified as Mark John Blanco, who was on his way home when the incident occurred.

"Tumulong nga lang po, sabi ng witness sa'kin," Blanco's wife said in an interview. "Ini-imagine ko yung mga pangyayari, talagang napakasakit."

["He only helped, the witness told me. I imagine the event, it's very painful."]

Police Major Segundino Bulan Jr. said Blanco pitied the suspect and helped him set his fallen motorcycle upright. When the vehicle was properly positioned, the suspect couldn't start it. He became angry with Blanco and immediately shot him.

A second victim, a resident, was also shot after responding to cries for help.

The suspect, Joel Vecino, was later caught after having been involved in an accident.

According to police, he was a security officer who had just come from a drinking session on the night of the incident.

He has been charged with multiple murder. Although he did not admit to shooting either victim, he has asked for the victims' families' forgiveness.
