The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) retracted its previous statement, saying that it will no longer suspend the number coding scheme in the succeeding days amid the week-long transportation strike.
In a press briefing, MMDA acting chairman Romando Artes said the agency would no longer extend the suspension of the number coding due to the heavy traffic it caused amid the week-long transport strike staged by groups to oppose the national government's move to phaseout traditional jeepneys and UV express.
"Ang MMDA ay nag-decide na hindi na palawakin ang number coding scheme suspension, ang atin pong coding ay meron na ulit bukas," Artes said.

Malacañang earlier said there were no disruption in transportation except in some routes in Metro Manila amid the ongoing strike.
In a statement, Presidential Communications Secretary Cheloy Garafil said that through the Libreng Sakay program, the government had provided free rides for commuters affected by the transport group strike.
According to MMDA General Manager Undersecretary Procopio Lipana, only 88 of 1,600 augmented vehicles have been dispatched to cater to passengers affected by the strike.
