President Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ Marcos Jr. has tapped former National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) Commissioner Gamaliel Cordoba as the new Commission on Audit (COA) Chairperson.
The appointment was confirmed by Supreme Court’s Public Information Office (SC-PIO) Chief Brian Keith Hosaka.
Cordoba succeeded former COA chair Jose Calida who resigned last Oct. 04.
He has taken his oath as the new COA chair before Supreme Court Chief Justice Alexander Gesmundo.

Malacañang has yet to post the appointment papers of Cordoba.
Cordoba previously served as the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp. (PAGCOR) Director under the administration of former president Gloria Macapagal Arroyo.
He also served as head of the Presidential Chief of Staff, deputy executive secretary, and appointments secretary.
