Three persons were killed by the New People's Army (NPA) rebels, which include a barangay councilman, after being accused as military informants in Negros provinces.

NPA's Mt. Cansermon Command confessed that the organization is responsible for the death of Regie de la Cruz in Sitio Maiti, Barangay Buenavista in Himamaylan City on Wednesday.

According to the rebel group's spokesman Dionesio Magbueala, Dela Cruz was involved in the killing of two NPA guerillas in 2022.

The NPA's Leonardo Panaligan Command, meanwhile, claimed that they are under great responsibility for killing a barangay kagawad named Cereloi Balasabas and Raffy Estorco on January 14 and 19 in Vallehermoso, Negros Oriental, and Moises Padilla, Negros Occidental.
