Vice President Sara Duterte expressed disappointment on Monday night as she formally acknowledged the partial results of the 2025 national and local national elections, an outcome that fell far short of her camp’s expectations.
“While the outcome was not what we had hoped for, our commitment to the people remains unwavering,” Duterte said in a public statement.
The statement was after only three of the PDP-Laban’s “DuterTEN” slate made it to the Magic 12 in the Commission on Elections' (COMELEC) partial and unofficial results as of 12:59 p.m.
Those who made it were reelectionist Senators Christopher “Bong” Go and Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa, and SAGIP party-list Rep. Rodante Marcoleta.
Duterte acknowledged the outcome despite disappointment but remained firm in her commitment to the country.
Regardless of the electoral setback, the Vice President thanked her supporters for standing by her throughout the campaign.
Duterte vowed that her camp would not retreat into silence, instead, she pledged to lead a strong and constructive opposition, committed to holding the government accountable and advancing the causes she and her allies championed during the campaign.
“This is not the end—it’s a renewed beginning,” she declared, calling on Filipinos across all political affiliations to join in building a “powerful and principled opposition.”
Duterte underlined the need for a national movement grounded in fairness, inclusivity, and justice.
