Only 3.5 million individuals received their COVID-19 booster shots in the National Capital Region (NCR), according to the data by the National Vaccination Operation Center (NVOC).
The Department of Health (DOH) revealed that not even half of the said number have received their booster shots.
There's a total of 3, 598, 341 who received the booster shots in Metro Manila which was reported by the NVOC in the latest update of their dashboard in the past month.
Meanwhile, there are 10.4 million who received their first dose of vaccination in the region.
In total, 23.6 million doses of vaccines have been administered in the NCR.
In the Philippines, there are almost 12 million individuals who received their booster shots from more than 45 million eligible populations.
Formerly, the government said that the booster shots will be a challenge because of the continuous decline of COVID-19 cases which results in many Filipinos being complacent with their primary dose.
The government is planning to launch another vaccination day in the areas with low vaccine coverage on April 21, Thursday – April 27, Wednesday.
