

Northern Mindanao (Region 10) won the championship in eSports, which debuted as a demonstration sport in the Palarong Pambansa 2023 in Marikina City on Sunday,July 30.
The demo game in this year's national scholastic sporting meet was Mobile Legends Bang Bang, a five-versus-five mobile multiplayer fighting arena published by Moonton.
Northern Mindanao players won a trophy and brand new phones for defeating five other participating regions in the demo sport conducted on July 29 and 30 at the Teatro Marikina.
Western Visayas, or Region 6, finished first, with the National Capital Region (NCR) finishing second.
The demo sport also featured teams from Zamboanga Peninsula (Region 9), Central Visayas (Region 7), and Davao Region (Region 11).
Teodoro stated that the Department of Education (DepEd) and Palaro Board members will study the demo sport and decide whether to incorporate it in the official games for the next Palaro.
The mayor stated that in recent years, esports have become a worldwide phenomenon, absorbing millions of people, spanning borders, and bringing people from all walks of life together.
The Philippine Esports Organization (PESO) assisted with the demo sport's execution.
