Itbayat, Batanes remains under Signal No. 3 as Jenny makes landfall in Taiwan

Itbayat in Batanes still remains under Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal (TCWS) No. 3 as Typhoon Jenny slightly weakens after making landfall in Pingtung Country, Taiwan on Thursday morning, according to state weather bureau PAGASA.

In its latest weather bulletin, PAGASA said TCS No. 2 was hoisted over the rest of Batanes while the following areas are under TCWS No. 1:

Babuyan Islands
the northern portion of mainland Cagayan (Santa Ana, Gonzaga, Buguey, Santa Teresita, Lal-Lo, Camalaniugan, Pamplona, Claveria, Aparri, Ballesteros, Abulug, Allacapan, Sanchez-Mira, Santa Praxedes, Lasam, Gattaran)
the northern portion of Apayao (Calanasan, Pudtol, Luna, Santa Marcela, Flora)
the northern portion of Ilocos Norte (Piddig, Bangui, Vintar, Burgos, Pagudpud, Bacarra, Adams, Pasuquin, Carasi, Dumalneg, Laoag City)

PAGASA said Typhoon Jenny was last seen 180 kilometers northwest of Itbayat packing maximum sustained winds of 155 km per hour and gustiness of up to 190 km/h. It was moving westward slowly.

Jenny will continue to enhance the Southwest Monsoon and bring light to moderate rains over the western portions of Luzon, it added.

The enhancement of the Southwest Monsoon will bring gusty conditions for the next 3 days in the areas of areas of the southern portion of Aurora, Romblon, and portions of CALABARZON, Metro Manila, Bataan, and Bicol Region.

Jenny is forecasted to exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) between this afternoon and evening. Outside the PAR region, JENNY will continue to move westward (becoming west-southwestward to southwestward by Sunday) slowly over the Taiwan Strait and the coastal waters of southeastern China.
