Some netizens took issue with Noli de Castro's seemingly inappropriate remarks during the closing spiels on TV Patrol's July 28 episode.
As the anchor of the news program alongside Karen Davila, Bernadette Sembrano, and Henry Omaga-Diaz, Noli made a comment after reporting on Maine Mendoza and Arjo Atayde's wedding.
Karen mentioned how celebrities or personalities can still keep their weddings private despite their popularity.
Noli responded with, “Kayo habang kinakasal, kawawa naman yung mga binabagyo.”
Karen and Bernadette didn't let the comment pass, reacting with, “Eto naman, o!”
Noli further discussed Typhoon Egay, which had just affected the country, and mentioned that Typhoon Falcon is on its way.
He expressed concern that areas previously devastated by Egay could be hit again.
“Si Egay na kalalabas lang ay may papalit na naman na si Falcon. At ang possibility na maaring ang dinaanan ni Egay ay daanan din ni Falcon, at mabigat yang pasanin para sa ating mga kababayan na hindi pa rin nakakabangon hanggang ngayon,“ said the anchor.
“Andun pa rin sa lugar kung saan napinsala sila ng bagyo at binabaha,” he added.
Netizens were quick to react to Noli's comments. Some commented that the wedding was scheduled without knowing about the typhoon.

The wedding was on schedule, and never have thought na may kasabayang bagyo yun. Meanwhile, Luzon lang binagyo and yet Noli de Castro wants everyone's attention on it, pero pag binagyo ang Visayas and Mindanao, no coverage.

Joey De Leon, Maine Mendoza's co-host on the noontime show E.A.T, also weighed in, defending the couple's decision to proceed with the wedding despite the weather.
