The local government unit of Malay, Aklan, reminded the public to avoid partying and playing loud music in Boracay on Good Friday.
In a memorandum order addressed to the Business Permits and Licensing Office, Malay Vice Mayor Niño Carlos Cawaling said that no parties or activities with loud music must be permitted from 6:00 a.m. on April 7 until April 8 at 6:00 a.m.
Cawaling also directed that no special permits be issued for Good Friday parties in Boracay.
The move is in accordance with a 2009 Sangguniang Bayan resolution prohibiting such activities on Good Friday.
Parties, on the other hand, are permitted until Maundy Thursday and may resume on Black Saturday.
